2021 Interim Submissions Errors

The ebTax system is aligned with each new PAYE BRS as and when it is released by SARS.

SARS determine when these changes come into effect (go-live date). This could, and usually does, occur long after the Tax Year commenced and due to this the possibility exist that certificates captured during the year (March until this go-live date) may have to be updated to ensure compliance with the latest changes.

Annually before the Interim Submission period open, ebTax extracts (test) files to run through e@syFile BETA to confirm that ebTax is aligned with the prescribed changes. This exercise is also done to identify any cases that require data updates to enable successful submissions.

The latest PAYE BRS (version 19.4) comes into effect on 14 September 2020.

During our latest e@syFile testing we have noticed a lot of SIC7-related errors.  These errors have been resolved for the 2020 and 2021 tax years for all customers. Should a customer need to submit an EMP501 file for a previous tax year and receive this error, an email can be sent to support@ebtax.co.za for the SIC7 code to be removed for that specific case.

All other e@syFile testing-related errors will be communicated with each customer individually for resolution.
